We are excited to announce Preston Cash as our new assistant Football Coach and Middle School Science Teacher. Preston Cash brings experience from the past three years as Head Junior High Football Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach at Pea Ridge High School. Prior to that, he coached football and baseball at Har-Ber High School. He and his wife, Paige, have been married for eight years and are the proud parents of three young children.
Preston is excited to join Gentry Public Schools and become part of its growing community. He looks forward to contributing to the district's success and building relationships with students, families, and staff. Outside of work, he enjoys camping, spending time outdoors, and making memories with his family.

🚗 New This Year for GHS Student Drivers!
Students who plan to drive to school this year must obtain a parking permit before parking on campus. Permits are free and help us maintain a safe parking environment by ensuring student drivers are licensed and insured while allowing us to identify vehicles on campus if needed.
📧 A Google Form to apply for a parking permit has been sent to GHS family email addresses. We'll also have tables set up during GHS Open House where students can complete the application and receive their parking decal.

🎉 Welcome to Gentry High School, Class of 2030! 🎉
Gentry High School welcomed its newest students Thursday night for Freshman Orientation, giving incoming freshmen the opportunity to get familiar with their new school before the first day of classes.
Students explored classrooms, the library, and activity areas while learning everything they need to know to get off to a great start at GHS. While parents attended a session designed just for them, freshmen rotated through sessions covering topics like getting involved and making a difference, maintaining a strong GPA, exploring all the resources available through the library, and reviewing the student handbook — including important information about bell schedules and student expectations.
The evening was hosted by GHS principals, counselors, and school leaders, with help from FFA upperclassmen who guided students through the building and helped make the transition to high school a little easier.
We can’t wait to see these students become part of the Gentry High School Pioneer family! ❤️

We are excited to announce Bailey Voights as a new Speech Language Pathologist. Bailey Voights is a speech-language pathologist who earned her degree from the University of Missouri. She began her career in Texas before relocating with her family to Arkansas two years ago and is grateful to be back in the Ozarks near her roots.
Bailey says that she is excited to be part of a district known for its strong community and positive culture. Outside of work, she enjoys horseback riding, kayaking, camping, and gardening with her family.

The start of another school year is just around the corner, and we can't wait to welcome our Pioneer families back to campus!
Our Open House events are a wonderful opportunity to meet teachers, visit classrooms, and get ready for an exciting school year. In addition, several of our district support departments will be available to answer questions and help families prepare for the first day of school.
During each Open House:
🚌 Transportation Department Leaders will be available in the school cafeteria to answer bus route questions, review transportation information, and assist families. If your student's bus number is changing this year, we'll be happy to help you review those updates. (Please see the attached Bus Number Changes flyer for details.)
🍎 Child Nutrition Department Leaders will also be in the school cafeteria and are excited to share that all Gentry Public Schools students will receive breakfast and lunch at no cost this school year through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) Program. Stop by to learn more about this exciting benefit and have any school meal or previous account balances questions answered.
❤️ School Nurses will be available in their campus health offices to visit with families, discuss student health needs, medications, and answer any health-related questions before school begins.
🚧 Exciting Construction Progress! As you visit our campuses, you'll notice several construction projects underway as we continue investing in the future of Gentry Public Schools. We appreciate your patience with temporary construction traffic and work areas. The safety of our students, staff, and visitors remains our highest priority, and all construction zones have been securely separated from student and public areas throughout the process. We can't wait to welcome our students into these outstanding new facilities once construction is complete!

Felicia Barton is excited to join Gentry Public Schools as a paraprofessional while pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Education in Special Education (K–12) at Arkansas State University. She is passionate about supporting students and helping every child feel encouraged, included, and successful.
Felicia looks forward to learning from the staff at Gentry, building meaningful relationships with students and families, and growing as an educator.
Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, caring for her chickens, birdwatching, hiking, exploring national parks, and spending time outdoors. 🏈 Pioneers Preparing the Right Way: Safety, Strength & Success
It may not feel like football weather in Northwest Arkansas right now, but the summer months are where seasons are built. 💪
The Gentry High School Pioneer Football team was recently featured by KNWA-TV for the precautions they are taking to make sure players stay safe and healthy while preparing for the upcoming season.
From adjusting practice times to emphasizing hydration and listening to their bodies, the Pioneer coaching staff is committed to putting player safety first, while still embracing the hard work and preparation needed to compete at a high level.
“We pride ourselves on not making excuses and obviously being aware of our body and how we feel and being honest about that,” said Head Coach Tyler Clark. “At the same time, yeah, it’s hot outside, and it can be tough to practice in that. Everybody else is doing it too. Just taking care of your body and practicing as hard as you can, our kids have done well with it.”
Those hot summer practices are helping the Pioneers prepare for the conditions they’ll face when the season begins. The 2026 football season kicks off Friday, Aug. 28, at Paris. The first home game is Friday, Sept. 4 against Jay, Okla. 🏈
The work is happening now. The preparation is underway. And the Pioneers are ready for the challenge.

Parents who wish to walk their child into the building should park in the south parking lot.
Please wait until approximately 2:55 p.m. before entering the afternoon pick-up line to help reduce traffic congestion.
📚 Gentry Intermediate School
Parking spaces along the west side of the building are reserved for visitors only.
Please do not use this area for student drop-off or pick-up.
🎓 Gentry Middle School
If you need to visit the office during arrival or dismissal, please park in the main Gentry High School parking lot.
Please wait until approximately 3:25 p.m. before arriving for afternoon pick-up to help traffic flow smoothly.

Our arrival and dismissal times are intentionally staggered to help traffic flow safely and efficiently between campuses while also ensuring each school meets the state's required instructional minute requirements. These schedules reflect years of experience and adjustments to find what works best for our students, families, and staff.

As we prepare for the new school year, we'd like to share a quick reminder about Attendance Pro, our student attendance communication system.
When your student is absent, you'll receive a daily text message that allows you to:
✅ Reply with the reason for the absence
✅ Upload documentation, such as a doctor's note
While the initial text is automated, every response and document is reviewed by your school's attendance secretary, so you're communicating directly with local school staff—not just an automated system.
These reminders help us keep attendance records accurate, ensure absences are documented correctly, and meet state attendance requirements while supporting student learning.
To help us keep records up to date:
• Upload or submit a doctor's note whenever applicable.
• If a doctor's note isn't available, simply reply to the Attendance Pro and ask about using one of your available parent notes for the semester.
