School nurses play a vital role in maintaining student health and safety across all campuses. They manage daily health needs and respond to emergencies, administer medications in accordance with Arkansas state law and district policy, and coordinate care plans for students with chronic health conditions. Additionally, they monitor required immunizations and health screenings as mandated by state law, and serve as a liaison between families, healthcare providers, and school staff.
Many of the procedures followed by school nurses—such as medication administration, exclusion for illness, and immunization compliance—are not specific to Gentry Public Schools, but are required under state law and public health regulations.
For specific health-related questions or to discuss your child’s medical needs, please contact the appropriate school nurse listed below.
The FAQ section below is provided for general guidance. In the event of any conflict or uncertainty, the Parent-Student Handbook serves as the official and governing source for all school health policies and procedures.
