Bell-to-Bell No Cell Phone Policy

As part of our commitment to student learning and safety, Gentry Public Schools enforces a Bell-to-Bell No Cell Phone Policy that aligns with Arkansas law. This policy restricts student possession and use of personal electronic devices during the instructional day unless specific exceptions apply.

Even before it became a state requirement, Gentry was already ahead of the curve, recognizing early the distractions cell phones create during the school day. Cell phones not only interfere with academic focus and student engagement, but also present safety, privacy, and behavioral challenges that schools across the nation are now trying to address.

Our approach prioritizes uninterrupted learning from the first bell to the last, making our classrooms more focused, respectful, and safer environments for all students.

The full policy is printed in the Parent-Student Handbook, but for convenience, we have included it in full below, followed by a general FAQ. Please note that while the FAQ is meant to help clarify key points, the official written policy governs all enforcement.
