Student Discipline Policies
At Gentry Public Schools, we are committed to maintaining safe, respectful, and supportive learning environments where students can succeed. Our discipline policies are designed to promote responsibility, protect the rights of others, and ensure consistency across grade levels.
Our district follows state law and statewide expectations when it comes to student discipline. The rules, procedures, and consequences outlined are not specific to Gentry alone, but reflect legal requirements and best practices adopted by schools across Arkansas.
We aim to handle discipline in a way that supports growth and learning, using a combination of clear expectations, positive behavior supports, and restorative practices. Discipline consequences vary by behavior, age group, and severity, and are outlined in detail in the full policy document.
These policies are included in our Parent-Student Handbook, but we’ve also broken them out here for your convenience. See the FAQ below for common questions. In any case of conflict, the official policy document will govern.
