GENTRY, AR — The Gentry High School cheerleading team made history in January, bringing home the first national championship in the school's cheerleading history. Friday night, the Pioneers had an opportunity to celebrate that accomplishment again as members of the 2026 national championship team received commemorative championship rings and specialty jackets during halftime of the football game against Berryville.
The recognition marked a milestone for a program whose success reflects countless hours of preparation, dedication and teamwork. The rings and jackets serve as lasting reminders of what the athletes accomplished together and the work it took to reach the top.
For Gentry Public Schools, the championship represents more than a trophy, said Gentry Superintendent Dr. Tyler Broyles. It reflects the commitment of student-athletes who balanced the demands of school, competition and team responsibilities while representing their school and community.
The championship rings and jackets presented Friday night provided a special opportunity to recognize the athletes' historic achievement in front of the Pioneer community.
Gentry Public Schools congratulates the 2026 national championship cheer team, its coaches and everyone who contributed to a season that will be remembered as a landmark in Pioneer athletics.
The first national title in Gentry High School cheerleading history is an accomplishment worth celebrating — and a source of Pioneer pride for years to come.
