PEA RIDGE, AR — The newest varsity program at Gentry High School is already making history.

The Gentry Lady Pioneers Golf Team captured the Pea Ridge Invitational Championship this week, earning the first tournament title in program history with an impressive team score of 154.

The Lady Pioneers finished 11 strokes ahead of the competition, topping a strong field that included:

• Gentry

  – 154

• Gravette – 165

• Pea Ridge – 174

• Elkins – 175

• Prairie Grove – 181

Members of the historic championship team are Kennedy Daugherty, Olivia Nations, Callie Jordan, and Jamee Kirk.

The season-opening victory marks a significant milestone for Gentry's new varsity girls' golf program and reflects the dedication and preparation the team has shown leading into its inaugural season.

"Winning by 11 strokes is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to the hard work these student-athletes have put in," said Gentry golf coach Ric Davies.

"This is a remarkable accomplishment for a brand-new program," Davies said. "These young women have worked hard to prepare for this season, and it's exciting to see that dedication rewarded with a championship in our very first tournament."

The Lady Pioneers will look to build on their historic start as they continue competition throughout the 2026 season.

The championship is the first in program history and provides an exciting foundation for the future of Gentry girls' golf.
