GENTRY, AR -- The Gentry Lady Pioneers Volleyball team continued its strong preseason preparations with an impressive showing at the recent Licking Preseason Team Camp, finishing as the varsity runner-up in the 5A-6A division.
Leading the way individually was junior setter Angelica Killebrew, who was selected to the 5A-6A All-Team Camp Team for her outstanding performance throughout the event. As Gentry's setter, Killebrew showcased her leadership, court awareness, and playmaking ability while helping guide the Lady Pioneers through a successful competition., new Volleyball Head Coach Hannah Hawkins said.
As a team, the Lady Pioneers battled through a talented field before earning a runner-up finish, second only to a strong White Hall team.
The preseason camp provided valuable experience as Gentry continues preparing for the upcoming volleyball season, Hawkins said. With a competitive finish against quality opponents and individual recognition for Killebrew, the Lady Pioneers face their season with momentum and confidence.
The Volleyball Pioneers open their season at home Aug. 24 against Ozark Catholic.
