GENTRY, AR -- Gentry Public Schools officially welcomed its newest teachers and staff members during New Employee Orientation Thursday, marking the beginning of an exciting new school year.

The day provided new employees with an opportunity to learn about the district's mission, policies, and procedures while connecting with district leaders and fellow teachers and staff members. Participants also received important information to help prepare for the first day of school and enjoyed a meet-and-greet with district administrators and Melissa Holland, president of the Gentry School Board.

The orientation concluded with a bus tour of the district, giving new employees a firsthand look at Gentry Public Schools' campuses, facilities, and the community they will soon serve.

"We're so excited that you are here," Gentry Superintendent Dr. Tyler Broyles told the group. "You were selected for a purpose, and we know you'll make a huge impact on our students and our community."

The event serves as the first step in preparing new educators and staff members to make a positive difference in the lives of Gentry students. Many of the teachers came from surrounding school districts, while some are Gentry natives who earned their teaching degree and wanted to come back and serve in their hometown.

Students and parents will have the opportunity meet and welcome the new teachers during upcoming Open Houses:

• August 6 -- High School and Middle School, 5-7 p.m.

• August 7 -- Primary School, 5-7 p.m.

• August 10 -- Intermediate School, 5-7 p.m.

Gentry Public Schools is proud to welcome these new members of the Pioneer family and looks forward to the talents, passion, and dedication they will bring to classrooms, campuses, and programs across the district throughout the coming school year.
