GENTRY, AR — While students are enjoying a well-deserved summer break, crews across Gentry Public Schools are busy preparing campuses for the start of another school year.
Throughout the summer, the district's operations team and contractors have been completing a variety of maintenance and improvement projects designed to enhance learning environments and improve the overall experience for students, staff, families, and visitors.
Projects underway across the district include painting, floor waxing, and facility upgrades, as well as improvements to the Gentry High School gymnasium, paint enhancements at Gentry Intermediate School, and fresh paint throughout district campuses.
According to Superintendent Dr. Tyler Broyles, summer provides an important opportunity to invest in school facilities while students are away.
"Summer is one of the most important seasons of the year for our operations team," Broyles said. "While classrooms may be empty, our campuses remain busy as crews work to improve our facilities and prepare for the return of students and staff. We are grateful for the dedication of our maintenance team and contractors who work behind the scenes to ensure our schools are ready for a successful year."
As part of the gymnasium refresh at Gentry High School, the district is also exploring ways to modernize the facility's appearance through updated branding, new logo applications, and enhanced display options that better showcase the accomplishments of Gentry students and programs.
While some existing banners were removed as part of the renovation process, district leaders emphasize that the goal is to create modern displays that continue to celebrate the same tradition of excellence.
"We are incredibly proud of the accomplishments of our students, teams, and organizations," Broyles said. "As we refresh the gym, we're looking at ways to display those achievements in a more modern and impactful way while continuing to honor the success and history of Gentry schools."
In addition to facility improvements, visitors to Gentry High School will notice updated campus signage designed to improve navigation and accessibility. The new signs will help guests more easily locate entrances for events and activities, identify the main office entrance, and navigate campus during school functions.
"Providing a positive experience for students, families, and visitors starts the moment someone arrives on campus," Broyles said. "The new signage is another example of how we're continuously looking for ways to improve our schools and better serve our community."
Broyles said the summer projects reflect Gentry Public Schools' ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and creating environments where students can connect, learn, and succeed.
