Scholarships

GENTRY, AR -- Gentry High School recognized members of its graduating Class of 2026 for earning more than $2.4 million in college scholarships during a special awards event celebrating academic, athletic, musical, and leadership achievement this week.

The scholarship awards will help students attend dozens of local, regional, and national colleges and universities as they pursue careers in fields ranging from science and agriculture to education, business, healthcare, and many others.

Among the honors awarded were prestigious Governor’s Scholars recognitions, along with numerous academic, athletic, fine arts, and institutional scholarships earned through years of dedication and hard work.

In addition, numerous memorial and honorary scholarships were presented in honor of individuals by local families who continue to invest in the future of Gentry students. Several local businesses also contributed scholarships that were awarded to deserving seniors, highlighting the strong community support behind the graduating class and its future success.

“From sciences to agriculture to education to many other areas, our students are going on to pursue their passions, and we couldn’t be more proud of them,” Gentry High School Principal Justin Blanchard said. “They’ve earned these honors, and we’re extremely fortunate to those who have contributed and made an investment in the future of our students.”

Blanchard said the milestone reflects both the strength of Gentry’s students and the importance of higher education in preparing young people for successful futures. Scholarships not only recognize achievement, but also help remove financial barriers that can prevent students from pursuing college and career opportunities.

As the Class of 2026 prepares for graduation Sunday, school officials say the scholarship total represents more than financial support; it reflects the belief that investing in students today helps strengthen communities for generations to come.

“Our students have worked incredibly hard to reach this point,” Blanchard added. “These scholarships open doors and create opportunities that will impact their lives long after they leave Gentry High School.”
