GENTRY, AR — Students at Gentry High School were recognized today for their commitment to perfect attendance during the past semester, thanks to the Western Benton County Partnership.
As part of the recognition, two students were awarded $1,000 checks, while five others received $100 gift cards through a drawing that included all students who maintained perfect attendance. School officials noted that a strong number of students qualified, reflecting a culture of consistency and dedication among the student body.
The $1,000 award winners were Elizabeth Gao Hli Chi Lo and Hannah Ward. Gift card recipients included Titus Cable, Caitlyn Hill, Rummer Quam, Nathan Smith, and Angela Yang.
Representatives from the Western Benton County Partnership were on hand to present the awards, along with community leaders and supporters, including Senator Tyler Dees, Mitch Baker, Ted Song, Shelby Young, and Jon Claborn.
School leaders expressed appreciation for the partnership’s continued investment in students and its emphasis on the importance of attendance.
“Attendance matters,” school officials said. “Showing up each day builds habits of responsibility, strengthens learning, and creates opportunities for success.”
The initiative extends across multiple high schools in the region, with Gentry High School among those participating. Administrators say the program not only rewards students but also reinforces the value of daily attendance in a meaningful and memorable way.
