GENTRY, AR — Three students from Gentry Primary School were recently recognized for their creativity and artistic talent as the school announced its March Art Award winners.
Amanda Dominguez, Hudson Woods, and Janella McMillan earned the monthly honor for their outstanding artwork, which teachers say demonstrated strong imagination, effort, and attention to detail.
The award highlights students who show exceptional creativity and enthusiasm in art class, celebrating the work young learners produce as they explore different artistic techniques and express their ideas visually.
Art plays an important role in the development of students in kindergarten through second grade. Through art projects and creative exploration, students develop fine motor skills, build confidence, and practice problem-solving while learning new ways to communicate their thoughts and emotions.
The program is led by art teacher Kolbie Rice, who works with students to introduce foundational art concepts while encouraging them to experiment with color, shape, and design.
Teachers say experiences like these help students discover the joy of creating while reinforcing the importance of imagination and self-expression in the classroom.
The March award winners join a growing list of students recognized throughout the year for their creativity at Gentry Primary School, and teachers say they look forward to seeing what these young artists create next.
