Gentry, AR -- Gentry High School’s Future Business Leaders of America chapter recently delivered an outstanding performance, earning top honors and sending a record number of students to the state competition.

Competing at the District VII Conference held on the campus of NorthWest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville, Gentry’s FBLA students showcased their business knowledge, presentation skills, and professionalism against some of the top students in the region.

When the results were announced, 22 Gentry students qualified for the State FBLA Conference in April in Little Rock — doubling last year’s total of 11 state qualifiers.

Several students earned top-three finishes in their competitive events:

First Place

  • Caleigh Farrar, Rachel Leonard, Kayla Newsom – Sales Presentation

Second Place

  • Gabby Jennings – Advertising

  • Teagan Skaggs – Introduction to FBLA

  • Paige Withers & Aaliyah Xiong – Business Ethics

Third Place

  • Candice Butler – Healthcare Administration

  • Steven Cung – Computer Problem Solving

  • Zaylee Gifford – Introduction to Retail & Merchandising

  • Jake Harris – Agribusiness

  • Zoey Key – Journalism

  • Florence Landaverde – Business Law

  • Braiden Sales – Economics

  • Peyton Knight – Business Communication

Additional top-five finishes included:

Fourth Place

  • Daniela Galvan & Gabriella Strickland – Marketing

  • Jimmy Hughes – Visual Design

  • Ethan Myers – Introduction to Marketing Concepts

Fifth Place

  • Adalyn Hogner, Ami Garcia & Amelia Bryant – Introduction to Social Media Strategy

The students will now prepare to compete at the state level in April, where they will represent Gentry High School among the top FBLA members in Arkansas.
