GENTRY, AR — While many school districts across Arkansas are experiencing declining enrollment, Gentry Public Schools continues to move in the opposite direction, posting steady growth that reflects increasing confidence from families in the community and beyond.
The 2025–2026 school year opened with strong momentum as Gentry welcomed 32 more students at the start of school than at the same point the previous year. That growth did not level off as the year progressed. By October, total enrollment reached 1,782 students, and by this spring, enrollment climbed to 1,788 — the highest point of the school year so far. That represents a 38-student increase compared to the start of the spring semester one year ago.
District leaders note that examining enrollment trends over time, rather than focusing on a single day’s count, reveals consistent and sustained growth throughout the year.
“This trend reflects what families experience every day in Gentry: people who care, strong academic outcomes, quality facilities, and a school culture built on relationships, communication, and trust,” said Dr. Tyler Broyles, Superintendent of Gentry Public Schools. “Families have choices when it comes to their children’s education, and that responsibility drives our work. More choices don’t scare us — they challenge us to be the best choice every day.”
That steady growth is also evident in the district’s Average Daily Membership (ADM), which plays a key role in school funding and staffing. From fiscal year 2022 to fiscal year 2025, Gentry’s ADM increased from 1,525.88 to 1,754.73 students, a gain of 228.85 students — representing approximately 15 percent growth. This ranks as the highest ADM growth in Northwest Arkansas and second-highest statewide, behind Emerson-Taylor-Bradley.
District leaders credit the increase to strong academics, engaged educators, continued facility improvements, and a commitment to responsive communication with families.
“We manage a small city every day, and that can sometimes mean challenges,” Broyles said. “What sets us apart is how we treat people. We have great teachers, great facilities, and great communication, but we really listen. If we need to adjust, we will. And if we can’t give a family the answer they want, we try to empathize and explain. That’s what makes Gentry Public Schools a place families can trust.”
