GENTRY, AR — Gentry High School senior Alissa Nelson has been selected as an All-State Cheerleader by the Arkansas Activities Association (AAA), earning one of the highest honors available to high school cheerleaders in the state.

Nelson was chosen by an AAA selection committee that recognizes outstanding accomplishment in cheerleading. She is among the Top 100 cheerleaders statewide, representing all school classifications, from the largest to the smallest schools in Arkansas.

“I have had the privilege of coaching Alissa most of her cheerleading career at Gentry,” said Head Cheer Coach Kaylin Lynch. “I am so proud to see her recognized at the state level for the commitment and leadership she has poured into this program over the last six years.”

Assistant Coach Kendra Crouse also praised Nelson’s work ethic and leadership. “Alissa is one of the hardest-working kids I have ever had the privilege to know,” Crouse said. “She has fully embraced her role as a senior leader on our team. She leads by example and is someone her teammates can count on to show up in the hardest moments. I am thrilled to see her hard work and dedication to cheerleading being honored.”

Nelson’s selection reflects not only her athletic ability, but also her leadership, consistency, and dedication to the Gentry cheer program.

After graduating from Gentry High School, Nelson plans to attend the University of Arkansas–Fort Smith, where she will major in social work.

This All-State recognition highlights Nelson’s exceptional contributions to her team and school, and the Gentry community congratulates her on this well-deserved honor.
