Cheer Award

GENTRY, AR -- Gentry High School student Kyah Manan, a member of the school’s Varsity Cheer team, participated last week in the Varsity Thanksgiving Tour, an event that features All-American cheerleaders and dancers from across the United States in a nationally-recognized Thanksgiving week performance.

Manan performed at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, joining a select group of student-athletes chosen as All-Americans during Varsity Spirit summer camps held nationwide. All-Americans are selected through tryouts evaluating superior cheer or dance skills at camps operated by the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA), Universal Dance Association (UDA), National Cheerleaders Association (NCA), National Dance Alliance (NDA), or Urban Cheerleading Experience (UCE).

Only the top 15 percent of cheerleaders and dancers at these camps earn the opportunity to participate in a holiday performance of this caliber.

The Varsity Thanksgiving Tour showcases top student performers on a national stage, bringing together athletes who demonstrate advanced technique, leadership, and commitment to their school programs.

School officials noted that Manan’s selection and performance reflect her continued dedication to the Gentry High School Pioneers cheer program and the high level of skill required to earn All-American recognition.
