GENTRY, AR — Gentry Public Schools hosted its inaugural Elementary Quiz Bowl Invitational today, welcoming young scholars from across Northwest Arkansas for a day filled with friendly competition, teamwork, and academic achievement.
The event brought together bright and enthusiastic students from several school districts, making it a celebration of learning, curiosity, and community spirit. Participants competed in fast-paced rounds that tested their knowledge across a variety of academic subjects—all while building confidence, communication, and collaboration skills.
Schools in attendance included:
- Rogers School District: Elmwood Middle, Kirksey Middle, and Bonnie Grimes Elementary
- Fayetteville School District: Holt Middle and McNair Middle
- Gravette School District
- Prairie Grove School District
- Life Way Christian School
- Trinity Catholic School
- Elkins Elementary and Middle Schools
- And of course, Gentry Middle School, representing the home team
“We’re so proud of every student who showed up to compete, learn, and grow today,” said Daniel Tu, Gentry High School math teacher, Quiz Bowl coach, and tournament director. “Events like this build skills that will last a lifetime. There aren’t many tournaments available for younger students, so we wanted to provide a supportive opportunity for all who wished to participate.”
The Invitational was more than a competition—it was a vibrant display of sportsmanship, perseverance, and the power of education to inspire, Tu said, extending thanks to all the students, coaches, volunteers, and schools who made the day such a success.
