WelcomeBack

GENTRY, AR — Gentry Public Schools officially launched the 2025–2026 school year today with a district-wide “Welcome Back” event, bringing together nearly 300 educators and staff members from across the district. The event served as both a celebration and a preparation for the exciting year ahead.

Superintendent Dr. Tyler Broyles welcomed all new and returning staff with a warm message of encouragement and unity. In addition to the kickoff, employees participated in specialized training sessions tailored to equip them for another successful year of student-centered safety and learning.

The district also proudly recognized its 2024–2025 Teachers of the Year, honoring their exceptional dedication and the positive impact they’ve made on students, colleagues, and the Gentry community.

“It was a joy to see so many smiling faces—reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones,” said Dr. Broyles. “This event is a powerful reminder that we are more than just a school system—we are a family.”

Classes for the 2025–2026 school year will officially begin on Tuesday, August 12. Leading up to the first day, Gentry Public Schools will host several special events to welcome students and families:

Wednesday, August 6: Open House at Gentry Middle School and Gentry High School, from 4:30–6:30 p.m.

Thursday, August 7: Open House at Gentry Primary School, from 4-6 p.m. (Free school supplies will be distributed to students).

Thursday, August 7: Open House at Gentry Intermediate School, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

These events provide families with an opportunity to meet teachers, explore classrooms, and ease the transition into the new school year.

As the new academic year approaches, Gentry Public Schools is excited to embrace a season of growth, learning, and continued excellence.
