Gentry, AR — Demonstrating school spirit and dedication to their community, students from Gentry High School rolled up their sleeves this week to help beautify the front of their school grounds. Despite the warm and humid Arkansas weather, these hardworking students spent the day raking, landscaping, and preparing the area for new plants, shrubs, and flowers that will add vibrant color to the campus.
This hands-on beautification effort is part of a broader commitment to service and civic responsibility. Under Arkansas' newly enacted graduation requirement, high school students must now complete community service hours in order to receive their diploma. Gentry High School students are already leading by example—turning the requirement into an opportunity to give back and take pride in their surroundings.
"We’re incredibly proud of our students," said Justin Blanchard, Principal of Gentry High School. "Not only are they helping enhance the appearance of our school, but they’re also learning the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and community engagement."
As the school prepares for the upcoming academic year, this project represents both a fresh start and a visible reminder of the impact students can make when they come together for a common cause, Blanchard said.
