Gentry, AR — Gentry native and long-time community volunteer Todd Dickinson has been appointed to the Gentry School Board, following a unanimous vote during a special board meeting held last week.
Dickinson fills the vacancy left by the resignation of board member David Williamson, who formally announced his departure at the Board’s May meeting. Superintendent Dr. Tyler Broyles and fellow board members expressed their appreciation for Williamson’s service and dedication to the district.
In accordance with Arkansas law, school boards are authorized to appoint a replacement within 30 days of a resignation. The board selected Dickinson for his deep community ties and longstanding commitment to youth development. He will serve until the next school board election in 2026, at which time he will be eligible to run for a full term.
A dedicated resident and advocate for local education, Dickinson and his wife Savannah have two children enrolled in Gentry Public Schools. His extensive volunteer work includes years of coaching youth football and wrestling, and active participation in both 4-H and FFA. His passion for education and community involvement reflects his commitment to building a strong future for Gentry students.
The Gentry School Board plays a critical role in guiding the district’s mission and ensuring high-quality education for all students. Board members are responsible for setting policy, adopting the annual budget, hiring and evaluating the superintendent, and maintaining compliance with state and federal education standards.
Regular board meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the third Monday of each month. Community members are encouraged to attend and stay informed about district initiatives and developments.
