Music Award Lemke

Gentry, AR — Gentry High School Senior Kailyn Lemke has been awarded the Governor’s Award for Musical Excellence, a distinguished honor given annually to 100 exceptional Arkansas high school seniors. This recognition celebrates Kailyn’s outstanding commitment to music and her embodiment of the highest standards in musicianship, teamwork, dedication, character, and attitude.

Kailyn plays the clarinet in Gentry’s bands.

The Governor’s Award for Musical Excellence is presented each spring to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional musical dedication, regardless of their school’s size or location. In addition to honoring student achievement, the program seeks to inspire younger students to pursue and continue their musical education.

“Kailyn is the perfect example of what it means to be a student musician,” said Ruby Contreras, Director of Bands at Gentry High School. “Her talent is matched only by her work ethic and her commitment to lifting others up through music. She represents the very best of our program and our community.”

Throughout her high school career, Kailyn has consistently demonstrated excellence. Her passion, perseverance, and positive attitude have elevated her peers and helped create a culture of musical excellence at Gentry High School, Contreras said.
