Dear Gentry Families, As we wrap up another school year, we want to sincerely thank you for your continued support and partnership. Together, we have made great progress toward fulfilling our mission of ensuring all students connect, learn, and succeed and advancing our vision to provide a world-class education with a small-town feel. This year, we’ve seen important investments across academics, fine arts, athletics, and facilities—strengthening the programs and spaces that support your children every day. These improvements help create a positive, supportive environment where all students can thrive. We invite you to stay connected and informed over the summer. Remember to check our website and social media for any announcements you might have missed, and if you can’t find what you’re looking for, use the admin tab on the website to find emails to contact the administrator for your question. As summer begins, we hope your family has the chance to relax, recharge, and enjoy quality time together. Taking care of yourselves and each other is important as we look forward to another great year ahead. The first day of school is August 12. Click the link below to see the 2025-2026 School Calendar or find it on our website under the "Parents" tab. Thank you for being part of our community and for all you do to support our schools. 📢 Reminder: Arkansas Schools' Cell Phone Policy 📢 To help students reconnect and focus on learning, Act SB142 bans cell phones during the school day in public schools. 🔹 "Bell to Bell, No Cell" – Phones must remain off during class time. 🔹 More focus, less distraction – This policy helps improve engagement and social interaction. Dear Gentry Families, At the board meeting earlier this evening, the board voted to accept a proposal to amend the current 2024-2025 school calendar, making April 18 and May 23 regular school days to serve as two of our makeup days. The six (6) total makeup days for the 2024-2025 school year are now set for April 18, May 23, and May 27-May 30, 2025, which will help us avoid extending the school year into June. Additionally, the board approved an amendment to the 2025-2026 school calendar, embedding five inclement weather makeup days during the school year. These days will be January 19, February 20, April 17, May 26, and May 27, 2026. Any additional makeup days, if needed, will begin on May 28, 2026. Updated calendars will be added to our website soon. These changes were made to prioritize student instruction and based on feedback from staff. If you have any conflicts with this year’s amendments due to previously arranged plans, don’t worry—just let the building administration know, and we will offer some flexibility to accommodate the changes. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Dear Families, School will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, February 18, due to the strong likelihood of winter weather moving into the area. While forecasts differ on whether the weather will arrive early or later in the morning, we have decided to make this call now to give families time to plan, rather than waiting and potentially causing disruption with a last-minute decision during the day. We have coordinated with neighboring schools to ensure consistency across the area. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to keep everyone safe. Please stay tuned for updates on whether other days this week may be affected. Stay safe and warm! Gentry Public Schools Administration
