Annual Pioneer Plant Sale
Gentry FFA will hold its annual plant sale from Wednesday, April 17th -Friday, April 19th, 2024. They have set times to sell the plants due to state testing and Adulting 101. On April 17, the sale will be from noon to 6 pm. They have asked that Gentry Pioneer staff and FFA parents not show up until noon due to the FFA teachers being involved in ATLAS testing and Adulting 101. On April 18th the sale will be from 8 am to 6 pm, and on April 19th the sale will be from 8 am to 6 pm.
FFA teacher Ms. Jackson said, “The FFA Plant Sale is an annual event that runs for 3 days. The plant science and greenhouse classes do all the growing and caring for the plants in their class during the year and then sell the product of their hard work. Come support the students and support the Gentry FFA.”
FFA Advisor Mrs. Fairchild added, “Ms. Jackson and her plant classes have been working hard on getting the greenhouse full of plants for our big plant sale. The hanging baskets are beautiful this year and we hope everyone comes out to buy some plants and support the Gentry FFA.”
Gentry FFA will be selling all types of plant pots like hanging baskets. The 10″ baskets are $20 and the 12″ are $25. There will also be patio pots for $25. There will be 6 packs for $6, 4 packs for $4, 4″ pots for $4, and 6″ pots for $6. The succulents will be $5 and up. Gentry FFA will have a wide variety of plants and flowers to buy.
Some of the things Gentry FFA will be selling are as follows:
Vegetables – Tomatoes, Peppers, Cucumbers, Yellow Squash, Zucchini
Greenery – Pre-made Baskets, Swedish Ivy, Wandering Jew, Spikes, Sweet Potato Vine, Coleus, plenty to make your own pots/baskets, various house plants
Flowers – awesome looking flowering baskets, Impatiens, SunPatiens, Wax Begonia, Petunia, Vernea, Pentas, Portulaca (Moss Rose), Geraniums, etc
Succulents – Aloe, Jade, Hens and Chicks, Cactus, String of Pearls, etc.
Overall, the FFA teachers are proud of the students for growing the plants and taking care of them over the school year, and FFA parents, teachers, and the public will be excited to buy them.
