Seniors Were Pro and Proud at Draft Day
Seniors left for the Draft Day: Be Pro, Be Proud Expo at the NWA Convention Center on April 10th. Draft Day is a full-day event that gives students who are interested in technical and trade fields the opportunity to interview with at least 3 different companies.
Draft Day gives students the chance to explore different job offers. The event is only limited to seniors because the companies from this event are looking to hire students as soon as they graduate from high school.
Career coach Melissa Fullmer said, “The seniors that had job interview opportunities had a very positive experience and got some feedback that will help them in the future. As of yesterday, none had received a job offer yet, but they did leave their information with the organizations they interviewed with.”
Senior Destiny Reinhardt said, “I interviewed with NWACC, Emery Sapp and Sons, and Northwest Controls. I really enjoyed getting to see other jobs that were available for me. I am hoping to work for one of the companies after high school.”
Draft Day also included a career expo that hosted various NWA companies that presented information about their work to students. They offered business cards and informational documents that explained the different positions students may be interested in.
If any current juniors are interested in participating in Draft Day, they can look forward to the next one in 2025. Any questions about the event can contact Ms. Fullmer (mfullmer@gentrypioneers.com) or Mrs. Sullins (msullins@gentrypioneers.com).
