Swinging into a New Season
Although it isn’t baseball season yet, the team is preparing for a successful season.
The players have been working as they begin the process of placing players into the positions that will benefit the team as a whole. They have been through individual workouts and have finished player evaluations. The players are starting to understand the team aspect of what it takes to be successful. They are working through a new workout routine and practice schedule that head coach Justin Ledbetter has created and put into place. Although the players are not adapting to the new style of practice as well as I would like, they are getting better each day.
“I think practices are going well and we have a lot of potential for this year,” said sophomore Tanner Christie.
“My personal goal is to use baseball as a tool to teach these young men how to become ambassadors of their school and community. The team goals have not been decided as of yet,” Coach Ledbetter said.
The Pioneer baseball team will kick off their season on March 1st against the Cedarville Pirates in Gentry at 5:00.
