Due to the forecast for winter weather, we will be dismissing two hours early tomorrow. Our goal is to balance safety with the importance of keeping students in school, while also giving families ample time to plan.
Though the forecast could change, current predictions suggest winter weather will move in by early afternoon, so we are planning ahead out of caution to address all interests.

Attention Families and Staff,
Due to worsening road conditions and frigid temperatures expected overnight, all schools in the district will be closed tomorrow, Monday, January 6, 2025.
Our administration spent over two hours late this evening driving more than 65 miles across the district to assess conditions firsthand. Many areas were already treacherous, with some spots more hazardous than others. With precipitation still falling at the time of this message, we believe it is necessary to exercise an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and families.
We apologize for the late notice, as we wanted to take all the time needed to make the most informed decision possible. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we prioritize everyone's safety during this weather event.

Under the "Parents" section, you'll find important information such as safety guidelines, handbooks, the district calendar, grade tracking, lunch menus, and much more.

Don't forget! Tomorrow all schools will dismiss early at 1:30 pm to allow families and fans time to travel to Dewitt and cheer on our Football Pioneers in the first round of state playoffs. Mrs. Chenault, GMS Library Media Specialist, conducted investigations with students in her library last week. Students were given a Halloween themed crime scene. They had to collect, process, and analyze evidence to figure out who committed the crime. Mrs. Chenault makes learning fun!
