Great things are happening at Gentry High School! We were awarded a Top 10% Award for Student Growth on last year's state assessments. 50 schools in the state of Arkansas received this award. The list came out this week, and we weren't just in the top 50, we were in the top 10! This is only possible with great effort from our students, parents, teachers, and staff! Thanks for making us "The district of choice!"

With the cancelling of school yesterday, today, and tomorrow we need to let you know the times and dates of our missed CAP and Parent-Teacher Conferences. Both events will take place on Thursday, February 27th. CAP conference appointments scheduled for this week will be planned for the same time next Thursday. We will have Parent-Teacher Conferences until 8:30pm that evening. Please reach out to your student's Advisory teacher if your time from this week will not work next week for your CAP conference. Stay warm!

Dear Families, School will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday, February 18, due to the strong likelihood of winter weather moving into the area. While forecasts differ on whether the weather will arrive early or later in the morning, we have decided to make this call now to give families time to plan, rather than waiting and potentially causing disruption with a last-minute decision during the day. We have coordinated with neighboring schools to ensure consistency across the area. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to keep everyone safe. Please stay tuned for updates on whether other days this week may be affected. Stay safe and warm! Gentry Public Schools Administration

GHS had a visit today from the Wheel Mobile, a travelling pottery studio. Our art students rotated through it today. The students' creations will be fired and glazed over the next couple of weeks and returned to them as finished pieces! What a wonderful opportunity for our students.

Parents, I can't believe it, but it is time to begin thinking about courses for next school year. Students were given a letter today with times for you to sign up for conferences today during Advisory. They will need to return it to their Advisor as soon as possible. CAP Conferences are February 19th from 7:45-3:45. Student attendance on that day will be calculated on their attendance to their CAP meeting. Otherwise, your student doesn't have to be at school. Of course, our doors will be open to those who choose to come all day. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at conferences! Justin Blanchard Principal, Gentry High School
