The Lady Pioneers Softball Team Loses Against Pea Ridge
The Gentry Lady Pioneer softball team played Pea Ridge on the 16th of April. The girls sadly lost with a score of 8-7, but this didn’t set the girls back. They had the longest winning streak of any sports team his year.
Some girls who pushed hard in this game were junior Cindy Barger, who went 2-4, and junior Evey Tomlinson, who went 2-3 with 2 RBIs. Freshman Olivia Nations also hit her first career home run. Nations also had 2 RBI’s.
Coach Teters said, “This game was for the conference championship. It went into 2 extra innings and unfortunately, we didn’t win. Our next game was the 19th against Northside, which was senior night! Then it is on to the district tournament! I have been so proud of these girls and what they have accomplished so far this season but we aren’t done yet!”
The girls have worked very hard this season and have majorly improved. They have accomplished many things that make them stand out as a team. The girls also played against Northside on the 19th.
