Scholarships All Around
Attention! Attention! Seniors gather around, there are several scholarships to apply for. On the counseling tab on the school’s website there are new scholarship opportunities.
The Gentry Alumni scholarship requires a 3.0 GPA and is for Gentry High School graduates. This scholarship is due on April 11th.
The Cherokee Promise Scholarship is due on April 8th and can be accessed at https://scholarships.cherokee.org.
Mass Group Marketing (American Public Life) of Plano, Texas and the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators will award a $1,000 scholarship to a son or daughter of an AAEA member. John Beesley, Chief Executive Officer of Mass Group Marketing, established the scholarship in honor of Dr. C. B. Garrison, former Superintendent of the Fort Smith Public Schools. The selection is based on academic excellence, leadership in school activities, work experiences and community service. The form must completed in Microsoft Word and then printed. Please see Mrs. Pipkin for the link to the scholarship form if you qualify.The deadline for this scholarship is April 15th.
The Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program is available for the ninth year in a row. They will be offering up to $1,000 to the winner each year. The deadline for the scholarship is June 10th. Students will submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page of their web site http://www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm.
The Undergraduate Scholarship is due on June 15th.
The BigSun Scholarship is an athletic scholarship offering up to $500. The deadline is June 17th. Visit their website http://www.bigsunathletics.com to learn how to apply.

“The Gentry High School Scholarship Committee works with the contributions from the United Way and the local community to provide scholarship opportunities to the seniors. Scholarships are available vocational education and college expenses,” high school counselor Mrs. Pipkin said.
