Pole Vault State Champ
Junior Cole Cripps, along with the Gentry Senior High track team, traveled to Nashville, Arkansas, to participate in the state track meet. Cripps participated in pole vault and jumped on Tuesday, May 2nd. Cripps got a 14’6”, which was a new PR for him. Cripps won the 4A State Championship in pole vault. Cripps will continue on to the Meet of Champs in Russellville, Arkansas on Saturday May 14th.
When Cripps was asked how it felt to be a state champion he replied, “It feels really good actually. It’s nice to know that all my hardwork has paid off.”
Cripps said the following about how he is going to improve for next year, “My plan is to keep jumping as much as I can and hopefully get on bigger and better poles.”
