Senior Night for the Lady Pioneers
The Lady Pioneers hosted the Siloam Springs Lady Panthers on April 26. It was senior night for the Lady Pioneers. Seniors on the team include Christina Barber, Sabra Philpott, and Mekalah Ramsey. The Lady Pioneers only had a small ceremony in between the varsity and JV games. The seniors will also get recognized at the banquet after the season ends.
The Lady Pioneers played a good game. At the top of the 5th inning senior Sabra Philpott was able to hit a two-run home run. It was her first career home run. Philpott scored the only two points for the Pioneers. The score was only 3-2 at the bottom of the 5th and the Panthers were up to bat, when one of their players was able to hit a grand slam. The rest of the game was held scoreless. The Lady Panthers beat the Lady Pioneers, 7-2.
Senior Mekalah Ramsey said this about her favorite memories, “Being able to encourage my teammates and them always being there for me, especially when I rounded third coming home.”
Senior Christina Barber gave this advice to the upcoming freshmen and underclassman, “Keep you mouth shut, be positive!”
Senior Sabra Philpott said this about the overall season, “I think we did great. We won a lot of games and played with heart.”
