Lady Pioneers Are 6-0 in Conference Play
On April 25, the Gentry Lady Pioneers took on the Green Forest Tigers in their sixth conference game of the season.
Senior Ana Linch started the game off with a goal in the first half, assisted by junior Amber Ellis. Senior Haley Borgeteien-James dribbled up the field to score the second goal of the game. The third goal was scored off of a free kick by Ellis.
However, in the second half, the Lady Tigers scored their first goal by talking on Gentry’s goalkeeper, Chastery Fuamatu, in a quick offensive transition.
The final goal was by Linch in the last fifteen minutes of the game. The end score of the game was a 4-1 win for Gentry.
Borgeteien-James stated after the game that, “I think that our touches and talking improved during that game and everyone was connecting with each other better than we had previously.”
Their next game will be played next Monday, May 2nd, at 5:00 p.m. against the Berryville Bobcats at Gentry’s home stadium.
