Pioneers Take Over
The Gentry track teams headed to Pea Ridge on Tuesday and Thursday of this week. Both teams did very well, junior high came in second place overall.
The junior high Pioneers took care of a lot of the events. Freshman Adrian Ramirez got second in the pole vault, 8th grader Brandon Atwood got first in the triple and first. in the 110 hurdles. Freshman Jamon Mathis got first in the high jump.
When I asked Mathis how he felt he did, he responded, “I feel very good about what I did, definitely had a nice challenge.”
7th grader Ashlyn Little also placed very well in the 110 hurdles for the girls.
The senior high teams headed to Pea Ridge on Thursday, April 7th to compete in their track meet. Junior Cole Cripps took care of the pole vault with a jump of 13’6”. Senior Bryan Harris got third in the high jump, third in the 100.
Both teams will have a meet in Gentry next week. Junior high will hold there meet on Tuesday, April 12th and senior high will have theirs on Friday, April 15th.
