Another Conference Win
The Lady Pioneers played a conference game against the Prairie Grove Lady Tigers on Monday, April the 11th. Both teams held the game scoreless until after the third, when the Lady Pioneers allowed the Lady Tigers to score 2 runs at the top of the fourth inning. The Lady Pioneers scored one run in the bottom of the fourth. Prairie Grove did not score in the fifth, but Gentry was able to hit a 2-run home run to take the lead at the bottom of the fifth. The game was 3-2 going into the sixth inning. The rest of the game was scoreless and the final score ended at 3-2 for the Lady Pioneers.
Junior Brooke Boston said this about her two-run home run, “I prayed really hard not to strike out.”
This was a big win for the Lady Pioneers. This game left Gentry’s conference record 2-2. The Lady Pioneers have two conference games left for the season.
The Lady Pioneers next game will be on Thursday, April 14 in Gentry against the Lincoln Lady Wolves.
