Lady Pioneers defeat the Lady Patriots
The Lady Pioneers played at home on Monday, March 28th, against the Providence Lady Patriots. The Pioneers played a good game. Gentry was able to put up 3 runs in the first inning of play and continued scoring from there. The Lady Pioneers held the Lady Patriots to only two runs throughout the game. The score was 9-2 at the bottom of the sixth when junior Makensi Sweeten hit a three-run home run to close out the game, leaving the score 13-2 and a Lady Pioneer victory over the Lady Patriots.
Senior Sabra Philpott said this about the game, “The Lady Pioneers did great last night. We hardly had any errors and we were able to put the bat on the ball. Good things happen when you execute plays and compete with the other team.”
The Pioneers, both the baseball and softball teams, will play their first conference games against the Pea Ridge Blackhawks at home on Tuesday, March 29. Come out and support the Pioneers at 5:00!
