Pioneers Have Successful Meet
On March 10 the senior high track team headed to Siloam Springs for their first real track meet of the year. After having a great first practice meet, the Pioneers had high hopes about their performances in their first meet.
They knew it would be a tough team meet because they were there with several 7A schools. However, they had good results. Junior Cole Cripps finished second in the pole vault with a jump of 13’3” and also automatically qualified for state. Senior Mallory Morris also qualified for state in the 800 with a time of two minutes and twenty-nine seconds.
All in all the Pioneers had a great meet. When asked how she felt she did she responded with, “It felt solid. The competition with the large schools pushed me to run hard. I’m excited to see what this season has in store.”
They will continue their season with a meet on Thursday, March 17th at the Tiger Relays in Bentonville.
