The Results of the Oscars
The 88th Academy Awards show, also known as the Oscars, aired this past Sunday on February 28th. This year’s Oscars was hosted by stand-up comedian Chris Rock and was located at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.
Here are the lucky nominees who were able to take home an Oscar: Spotlight won Best Picture; Leonardo Dicaprio won Best Actor for his role in The Revenant; Brie Larson won Best Actress for her role in Room; Mark Rylance won Best Supporting Actor for his role in Bridge of Spies; Alicia Vikander won Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Danish Girl; Alejandro González Iñárritu won Best Director for The Revenant; The Big Short won Best Writing: Adapted Screenplay; Spotlight won Best Writing: Original Screenplay; Mad Max: Fury Road won Best Editing, Best Costume Design, Makeup & Hairstyling, Best Production Design, Best Sound Editing, and Best Sound Mixing; Inside Out won Best Animated Feature Film; The Revenant won Best Cinematography; The Hateful Eight won Best Original Score; “Writings On the Wall” featured in Spectre won Best Original Song; Amy won Best Documentary: Feature; A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness won Best Documentary: Short Subject; Son of Saul won Best Foreign Language Film; Bear Story won Best Short Film: Animated; and Stutterer won Best Short Film: Live Action.
When asked about the Oscars, Lali Estrada (11) said, “I screamed when Leo won an Oscar and my heart burst because I was so happy he won!”
