Gentry Takes on Siloam
The boys’ and girls’ bowling teams challenged Siloam at home last Thursday, February 4th.
The girls total score was 750. The top three scorers on Thursday were seniors Carol Williams, Rebecca Martin, and Sabra Philpott. Williams bowled a high score of 178, Martin bowled a 139, and Philpott bowled a 121.
Philpott said this about the match, “I would say I think I did pretty good. I’m looking forward to conference and we will be going to state once again.”
The boys’ bowling team scored 949. The top three scorers for the boys were senior Wyatt Clark, sophomore Myles McFerron, and sophomore Daniel Thao. Clark bowled a 211, McFerron bowled a 184, and Thao bowled a 158.
Thao said, “I feel like I didn’t do too well. If we want to win state there is still a lot of work to do in such little time.”
McFerron said, “I did well. I am just starting out with bowling and it’s all new to me. My progress this season is going well though.”
Today the bowling team traveled to Fort Smith to practice for their conference tournament. They want to get used to the alleys before they have to go to conference.
The next bowling match will be the conference tournament in Fort Smith this Thursday, February 11.
