Pioneers Have Shootout with Bobcats
The Pioneers faced the Berryville Bobcats for the second time. In the previous meeting between the two teams, the Pioneers came out on top winning 58-56.
Round two came around for the Pioneers and the Bobcats; this time the game was played on the Bobcats’ home floor. The game started of on a negative note when the Berryville captains showed their good sportsmanship by not shaking nor looking at the Gentry captains, senior Matt Juillerat and junior Evan Folker.
The Bobcats were so determined to win they decided to play extremely dirty. Senior guard Juillerat was punched in the stomach in the first few minutes of the game. The Pioneers made a huge comeback in the fourth but it wasn’t enough, losing 66-63.
“We played hard, and played well but in the end it came down to not playing good enough defense. We just didn’t make all of our shots,” said sophomore Ethan Hammond.
Tomorrow the Pioneers will head to Huntsville to take on the Eagles and their coronation.
