Pioneers, Blackhawks, and Bobcats… Oh My!
On January 22, the junior high girls’ basketball team played against the Pea Ridge Blackhawks. The top shooter for the girls’ game was Ahrya Reding (8th). The girls lost to Pea Ridge 29-10.
Assistant Coach Tevebaugh said, “Some of our girls are battling through some injuries and because of that some had to play out of position. We didn’t settle in offensively the entire first half. We came out flat and Pea Ridge played well.”
On January 25, the junior high girls played against the Berryville Bobcats. The leading shooters were Katie Ellis (8th) and Meledy Owens (8th). The Lady Pioneers lost 33-18 to the Bobcats. “We finally came back together as a whole and started playing again like I knew we could,” said Ellis.
The Lady Pioneers’ next game will be against Huntsville on the 28th.
