Ms. Yates received her B.A. Degree in Music Education K-12 (Vocal Emphasis) from Harding University in Searcy , AR.   She received her Masters Degree in Choral Conducting from Ithaca College , in Ithaca , New York .  She is in her 22^nd year of teaching and has taught in Allen , Texas and Bentonville, Fayetteville and Gentry Arkansas.   Choirs under her direction have performed at the AR All-State Convention, two Southwest Regional American Choral Directors Association conventions and one National ACDA convention as well as at Carnegie Hall in New York City .   She was chosen as Arkansas ’ Junior High Choral Director of the year.   She is extremely proud of the Gentry choirs aiming high and working to make State for the first time last year!  Go Pioneer choirs!!   She loves working with her choir students and singing in area summer musicals and being with her cat Allegra.
