Brian Little is in his seventeenth year of coaching football, and his fourth year as Gentry High School’s Head Football Coach.  Before coming to Gentry, Little was the Offensive Coordinator for a staff that led Greenwood High School to four AAAA West conference championships and four state semi-final appearances.  The Bulldogs appeared in the state championship game twice during his time there, winning the AAAA state title in 2000.  Little’s tenure in Rogers was capped off with an undefeated regular season record and AAAAAAA West conference championship in 2006, where the Mounties finished 12 – 1 overall and state runner-up.  Little was also named AFLAC National Assistant Coach of the Year in 2002.

Little earned his Bachelor’s degree from Arkansas Tech University.  He and his wife Melissa celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary in 2010.  They have three children, Lauren (12), Colton (11), and Ashlyn (7).  Melissa is a Pediatric Physical Therapist for the Richardson Center in Siloam Springs, as well as for Gentry and Decatur Schools.  The Little family attends Gentry First Baptist Church.

Statement from the Head Coach

I appreciate the opportunity to lead and direct the Gentry High School football program.  I am proud of my staff and believe that they share my philosophy concerning football and life.  Our goal is to prepare our young men for the challenges they will face in life, and hopefully, through our example, prepare them to be quality husbands, fathers and citizens.  We believe the game of football and its physical struggles are a great tool for teaching these types of lessons.  While everyone wants to see us win on the scoreboard, we believe our first responsibility to our players is a good moral example.  Sound structure and discipline will ultimately lead us to the scoreboard victories we all want.  I believe our staff and players were committed to improving our program in 2009, and although our record was not what we wanted, some major steps to improving the program were definitely taken.  Your support and encouragement is greatly appreciated as we continue to strive for excellence and a breakthrough season in 2010.  Help us make this time in these young men’s lives fun and memorable.  Help us as we encourage them to “Be the Best”
