I
was born in
El Dorado
,
Arkansas
and was raised in Fordyce in south
Arkansas
. I went to high school at
Fordyce
High School
. I grew up in a household with a
great family, where my father was a basketball coach and my mother owned a
jewelry/gift store in Fordyce. I
was raised a “gym rat”: during my high school days I played everything
there was to do at school: football, basketball, baseball and track.
We won a state championship in football my senior season, this is one
of the highlights of my life. I
then went to the
University
of
Arkansas
at
Monticello
where I achieved my Bachelors Degree in Health and Physical Education.
After receiving my first degree, I went to
Arizona
State
University
to work on my Maters Degree and be a Graduate Assistant with the Arizona State
University Men’s Basketball team. This
was one of my most memorable experiences of my life.
I got to see many places and enjoy various activities that I would not
have been able to do without being a G.A. at ASU.
I met my wife Candace in
Arizona
and we now have been married for twelve years.
Candace is a Physicians Assistant that works for First Care South.
We have a little boy that is 5 years old and his name is Riggs. Riggs
is in kindergarten this year. He
loves to play baseball, and soccer. My
first teaching/coaching job was at my alma mater Fordyce where we had a lot of
success in two years there. I then
moved to
County
Line
for five years before coming to Gentry where I have been for six years now.
While working at
County
Line
I pursued my Specialists Degree in Education through
Harding
University
where I graduated with the degree in 2003.
At Gentry Public Schools I coached for one year and was Athletic
Director/High School Assistant Principal for four years.
I have been the High School Principal at
Gentry
High School
for two years. I am looking
forward to this endeavor in my life and I am really excited about the
2011-2012 school year. We at
Gentry
High School
believe that opportunities must be provided for each teacher and student to
excel by maximizing their respective abilities to assure students receive a
strong foundation.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and watching the
Pioneers/Razorbacks play (any sport).
